Committed to improving our Shire

The Committee for Wellington comprises of business and community leaders from the Shire who are passionate and committed to the economic development of the region, recognising the benefits that will flow to our community including job creation and infrastructure development.

The broad objectives of the Committee include:



Promoting Wellington Shire as a place to invest, work and live in;



Generating economic development initiatives;



Providing a link between the business community and the Local, State and Federal Government representatives and other community organisations;



Support for major projects and community issues across the Wellington Shire

Since 2006, the Committee for Wellington has supported the progress of the Shire and lobbied Local, State and Federal Government on a number of issues and projects.

Who we are

The Committee for Wellington comprises of business and community leaders from the Shire of Wellington.

What we are

The Committee for Wellington is a non political voluntary group of passionate people dedicated to the economic development of the Wellington Shire.

Our Objectives

The broad objectives of the Committee include offering:

A link between the business community and the Wellington Shire Councilors and their executive management team;

Advisory assistance to Councillors and their management team;

Identifying and initiating community support for major projects; and

Generation of economic development initiatives.

Our Role

It is not the intention of the Committee for Wellington to carry out or operate projects.

Rather, we see our role as being facilitators, thinkers and catalysts through initiating, validating and building community support for longer-term projects that will promote the diversity, strengths and opportunities of Wellington as a desirable place to live work and invest.
